I have followed the instructions for using a custom header image but when I paste the URL for the image it does not show on the blog pages. But if I choose one of the pre-installed headers it shows just fine. How can I fix this to show my custom header?

I found out that if I upload the image file to the headers folder and use the absolute path to the image in the "Header custom image:" box it will display on my site.

I have this same problem.  I activated a Twenty Eleven Theme which I assume deactivated the Flexibility one and lo and behold I could see my custom image in the header but not under Flexibility. I have put the information in correctly according to every instruction and video I can find but it still does not show!

zzzmuzz, where exactly are you putting in the URL to your header image?  You should be under Appearance > Flexibility 3 Theme Options and then under the Header tab in the Flex 3 options.  There is a 'Header custom image' blank that you put in the full URL to your custom image.

Thanks Ryan.

I have putting the full path into the Header Custom Image which I have cut and pasted from the image library.  http://vvvvvvv.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/Headerimage1.jpg

Though I am reasonably new to WP, I am not a total newbie and am still absolutely flummoxed.

I have taken Flexibility back to original settings.

I have deleted and resinstalled Flexibility.

I have disabled a raft of plugins just in case.

I have cleared all caches many times (working in Firefox mainly).

I have cleared the whole site and started again.

I can go back to one of the standard WP themes and wow, the custom header image appears!

I can get a custom image to stick ok, but cannot change the size.  Oddly if I Right Click on that image and go to View background image I get an image of a custom header that I did before I deleted Flexibility from the server.  Is it hidden behind the background??  If so I cannot get to it.

My thin hair is now almost non existent but do want to stick with it!

I'm as puzzled as you.  The fact that a custom header image set in Flex 3 would show on any other theme makes no sense.  WP does have the new custom header image feature, so that's why I asked where you put the URL.  But it has to be enabled within the theme to use it, and Flex 3 doesn't use it because it's already built in within the theme options.

If you want to send me your site login via my contact form, I can go in and take a look at everything.  Something odd is going on, but I can't tell what exactly.
