How do I make a page the Home page for the site so that "Home" does NOT appear twice on the navigation bar above the header? I can't seem to find the answer by searching the forums…surely this has been asked before.

You can remove the default 'Home' tab in the theme settings, then you'll only have 1 Home link. It's under the Header tab: Navigation Home link display
