Hi, I wonder if you can help.  I would like to add a jpeg image (photo of myself) with some accompanying text on the left hand side of the Features Section.  I am not sure how you do that.  I can see how you would add the photograph into a widget text box, but not sure how I would add words to accompany it, maybe wrapped around the photograph.  Many thanks. This is a simple trick I use.

I create a draft post–this becomes my sandbox–as I never publish it.

In the post add your picture, your text, format it the way you want it etc.

Click on Save Draft

Click on the html tab copy the code

Open up your Feature Top widget

Add a text widget

Paste the code from above

That should work.

Holly,

I followed your insturctions and it worked except the image was too wide. So I redid the size, and went through the steps again and now in the top feature area is not there (not even a black bar) and there is a message in the left box next to :About my blog" that says "Opps, That wasn't found……."     The url of the site is http://localmobilewebsitespro.com/

I hope you have a suggestion.

By the way, before I found your original post, I went into the feature.php in the editor and wiped it clean of all the default stuff. It was still empty when your instructions worked the first time. Just to see what would happen, I got rid of the widget in the feature/text area  and went back in the editor and replaced the original code (I alway make a copy before experimenting). I still just get the "Opps….." message.

Update: I solved the problem.

Just to see what would happen, I reinstalled the WP2011 theme. Got the same "Opps" msg. So, since I just started working on this site and nothing else was in there, I went into my server and uninstalled WP and reinstalled a new, clean one. And, did your magic formula and it's looking good.

There is another problem though. If you go to the site http://localmobilewebsitespro.com you will notice that everything below the feature is to the left margin rather than centered. Do you know the remedy for that?

This is real screwy! Everything is lined up now and I got the "Opps…." message back. How do I get rid of it? The front page is going to be a static one with no blog stuff showing.

Got everything to work. Once I designated a page to be the static page, the "Opps…" msg disappeared. The finished site is at http://localmobilewebsitespro.com/
