Yo Ryan,

I'd like to remove the "archives" and "links" sections from my blog. I have not installed any widgets for these to show up, they are the default ones from your theme (flexibility2).

What template do I go into to remove these so I only have the sidebars and categories showing…?

And once I do this, will I be able to re-install them in the future through appearance > widgets or should I save the code I'm about to remove?Confused

Thanks

i've just gone through the exact same thing,  if you look for recent threads started by me (podman) you should find the answers.   If you add a text widget to your side bar, the links and archives sections will automatically diasapear.   The only other way i think would be to edit the code out which is what i had to do to get rid of the 'categories' section.

cheers

Hi Podman,

I put a text widget in the sidebar_top section and I still get the extra Categories, Links, Archive widgets.  If I put the text widget in the sidebar_left, only the Categories disappear.  I still have the Links and Archives.

So how and where did you place the text widget to remove the Links and Archives?

OK guys,

If you put a text widget in the sidebar_right and another text widget in the sidebar_left – you can eliminate all of the remnant Archive/Link/Category widgets….

Cool

yep, that worked!

When you first install the theme – where are the Recent Posts and Recent Comments widgets coming from?  I'd like to keep that look/layout but put different content there.
