Hi Ryan

as you know i'v already set up one site successfully with flexibility and customised it nicely.    I've just tried uploading it on a 2nd site and it 'mucked up' half way through so i deleted it and started again.  When i was uploading it for the 2nd time i often got the message come up saying something like:  "the file aready exists,  would you like to overwrite it?"  (the 'existing' file was always the same name but a smaller size),  so i just kept clicking 'yes' to overwrite it.

After it was uploaded and i tried to install flexibility 2 as the theme i got this message:

Warning: Unexpected character in input: ''' (ASCII=39) state=1 in /home/podman/public_html/playbongos.com/wp-content/themes/flexibility2/functions.php on line 54

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end, expecting ')' in /home/podman/public_html/playbongos.com/wp-content/themes/flexibility2/functions.php on line 54

so i uninstalled wordpress and started from scratch,  re-installed wordpress,  re-uploaded flexibility 2,  but had the same things happening when uploading (which i don't know how that's possible for the files to already exist when it has all been deleted and uninstalled!!)  and got the same error message when trying to activate flex2.

Any ideas how to solve this?

cheers

Yuri

I've never seen this before. How are you uploading and unzipping the file on your server?

when i first downloaded flexibility 2, i just right clicked and clicked on 'extract here'.    And for uploading, i'm using filezilla and uploading the file straight into my wp themes folder.   This is exactly what i did also for the first site which had no problems.

The first time i tried to upload the theme onto this 2nd site,  what i did wrong was i didn't open my folder in the left side of filezilla to the right 'level'.  I was uploading the 'mother folder' which contained both the zipped flex2 theme and the extracted flex2 theme.   When i realised i stopped the upload, deleted it and started again.

That's when i kept getting the message….this folder already exists, would you like to overwrite it.  After the upload i got the error message when trying to activate the theme.  So i deleted the theme in filezilla, uninstalled wp from my site,  and did the whole thing again,  but got all the same problems again even though the 2nd time i uploaded the correct folder and not the 'mother folder'.
