. I've perused the forum and read to make sure the folder structure is right.
I install custom wordpress blogs for a living. But OK, I doublechecked 'cause this is the first time trying out Flexibility 2.
Yep. Looks OK to me.
http://mydomain.com/wp-content/themes
Inside the themes folder Resides the Flexibility2 folder with the theme files inside.
I see that the styles.php file is what drives the site. BUT the style.css file is empty, except for the text below. Is this normal?
~~~
/* Theme Name: Flexibility2 Theme URI: http://www.flexibilitytheme.com/ Description: Flexibility2 is the newest release of the world's most customizable WP theme. Version: 1.0 Author: Ryan Grabenstein Author URI: http://www.flexibilitytheme.com Tags: dark, light, two-columns, custom-colors, custom-header, theme-options, right-sidebar, threaded-comments */
Also, Does it work with WP v 2.8?
Thanks
Yup, completely normal. Flexibility 2 uses the style.php file for the stylesheet. The data in the style.css file is only for WordPress to recognize the theme once installed. I actually haven't even had time to test Flexibility 2 on 2.8 yet. FlexSqueeze, which is somewhat similar to Flexibility 2 runs fine on 2.8.
HI Ryan,
Well, I was seriously considering buying the unlimited site license for Flex Squeeze, but I wanted to get a blog up using Flexibility2 first.
For 100% of my blog installations, I use another 'theme/CMS' over the top of WordPress. I have an installation 'kit' I use for that. My 'kit' uses a tweaked/proprietary version of WP 2.7x that will not work with any other 'theme' but the one I use.
I needed a copy of plain old wordpress in order to add your Flexibility2 theme and try it out. Unfortunately, I can only seem to find wp 2.8 available anywhere for download.
Am I to assume that your reply indicates that my initial installation of your Flexibility2 theme is NOT working (no css file taking hold) because I'm using it with WP 2.8? If So… can you point me to a download of WP 2.7?
Thanks
Every version of WP ever released can be downloaded here: http://wordpress.org/download/…..e-archive/
I'll need to test Flexibility 2 on 2.8 to determine compatibility. Obviously since it's free it doesn't get priority like FlexSqueeze.
I just installed Flexibility 2 on 2.8 and had no issues. Not to say there aren't any that won't pop up, but everything seemed to work just fine.
What reasons, BESIDES double folders, could cause the css file to NOT kick in, then???
allow URL fopen is NOT an issue. Other things on this server are working that require that to be enabled.
Tried chmodding the style.css file to 666 and 777 just 'cause. No go.
If Flexibility2 isn't going to have any css file effects on my 'test' site, then I would expect the same problem buying and trying with Flex Squeeze on this server.
I'd give you access to this current No-Css Flexibility2 installation, but don't know how to send that to you…
Otherwise, I have two other servers I can try it on. But the idea of buying the UNLimited license Flex Squeeze was to use it on sites accross all my servers.
